WWE News: In the latest WWE news on John Cena’s return, the 16-time World Champion is now rumored to return on the July 23 edition of WWE Smackdown following Money in the Bank PPV. The July 23 Smackdown is scheduled to take place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

It’s been a while since the news of John Cena’s potential return has become the topic to whisper among the fans. Initially, the leader of Cenation was supposed to be back on July 16 when the live audience would be in attendance, and now the latest WWE news on his return is that he will be back on July 23.

A month back, Cena appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show to promote his flick F9, where he revealed that he would be back in WWE soon as he can’t wait to follow his first love, i.e., wrestling.

Cena is rumored to face Roman Reigns at WWE Summerslam on August 21 at the Allegiant Stadium. Therefore, it is obvious that he will appear on the Blue brand to confront the Head of the Table Roman Reigns. A few weeks back, it got reported that Cena might not make it to Summerslam as he has signed a new Hollywood project, ‘Argylle’ & will begin its shooting in Europe in August this year. The dates might be clashing with Summerslam, but as per Fightful Select, the plan in works for Cena is to return on July 23 Smackdown. 

WWE News: Cena’s last WWE TV appearance came at Wrestlemania 36 

It’s been quite a while since we have seen John Cena in the squared circle. His last appearance for WWE came in 2020 at the Showcase of Immortals i.e., Wrestlemania 36, which took place in WWE’s Performance Center courtesy of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

He fought “The Fiend” Bray Wyat in a weird Firefly Funhouse match, and unfortunately, lost the bout without much hype. We, as wrestling fans, await Cena’s return and will be updating on the latest WWE news regarding his return.
